Goal:
In total I have already lost 46 lb since January 2005 (but gained 20 lb of it back). As of May 2012 I am aiming to lose another 50 lb to be a healthy weight for my height (5 ft 6 in).
Calorie Counting:
I did Weight Watchers in 2003 and lost 25 lb. I went away to live and work overseas and did not follow WW and gained it all back. When I got back in 2005 I went back to WW and again lost 25 lb.
Weight watchers works for me, but now I prefer calorie counting and use the Lose It app on my iPhone. It seems a bit overwhelming and annoying when you first start using it, but after you get in all your usual food entries it becomes super easy.
I am aiming for 1200-1300 calories daily. I do NOT count the calories my exercise burns.
Exercise:
Hot yoga (60 min): Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Weights: Tuesday, Saturday
Acupunctue
So I have been going to an acupuncturist since Jan 2010. I have to say, it has completely changed my life. Amongst all my numerous other problemos, I have asked him to help me lose weight. I don’t know exactly what he does, but what I do know is that after every session (about once every two weeks) he puts these acupuncture beads on certain places on my ears to help decrease appetite. It totally works!
It is the first time in my life I have entirely left everything up to my healthcare practitioner and not asked a lot of questions. Usually I drill them and interrogate them, but I don’t know, for some reason I just completely trust him. He took away my neck pain from the car accident that had been plaguing me every day in ONE SESSION. How could I not trust him?
Learning self-love:
This is going to be a tough one. I don’t want to just physically lose the weight, I want to MENTALLY lose the weight, learn to love myself, be my own #1 fan. In the long run I think this will help me lose and maintain.

Hi! Thanks for reading! I know, isn’t it sad that most of us are unable to afford what could help us!? I have that issue too
. However, keep in mind, even just one treatment of acupuncture can have HUGE results that are long lasting. My treatment is $60 for 45 minutes, which isn’t *too* bad. I was just honest with him and said that I would come when I could afford it. I am trying to alternate between acupuncture once a month and naturopath the other month.
